Upper Skagit Bald Eagle Festival

Concrete is located about 90 miles northeast of Seattle. Take I-5 to exit 230 at Burlington. Take State Route 20 east, toward the Cascade Mountains. Drive through Burlington, Sedro-Woolley, Lyman, and Hamilton and on to Concrete. Concrete is about 29 miles east of I-5.

The City of Burlington is an important sponsor of the Bald Eagle Festival. If you need to stay overnight, please use one their motels.

State Route 20, from Mazama to the Ross Lake Trail at MP134 is usually closed for the winter, December through April. Check road conditions here.

When you have reached Concrete, watch for a five-section silo, a school signal, lots of signs, and Superior Street. Turn right (south) on Superior, drive for about 4 blocks, drive under the school and find a parking space. An assistant will be there to help you find a suitable spot for parking.

To the Skagit River Bald Eagle Interpretive Center

and Eagle Watchers Sites

Located about 100 miles north and east of Seattle, Washington, the most direct route is from Interstate 5, Exit 230 at Burlington. Exit the interstate and head east on State Route 20 (the North Cascades Scenic Highway). The community of Rockport, in the heart of the viewing area, is about 40 miles from I-5 on SR 20.

State Route 20 over Washington and Rainy Passes will be closed for the winter between mile posts 134 (Ross Lake Trail) and mile post 175 (west of Early Winters).

The City of Burlington is a major Sponsor of the Skagit Bald Eagle Interpretive Center. We recommend that if you need a place to stay overnight, you choose one of the fine motels in Burlington.
