Hires New Staff!!

On November 25th Andrea Weiser & Karen Marks were officially hired as Full-time employees at the SRIC!!

Andrea Weiser has lived in Marblemount, Washington for the past 10 years and developed a deep appreciation for the Skagit watershed.  She has worked with North Cascades National Park and North Cascades Institute as an outdoor educator and archeologist. She holds an M.A in archeology and is knowledgeable about prehistoric human use of the Skagit. Andrea is also a writer, poet, and whitewater kayaker and has a particular interest in native plant use.

Karen Marks-Assistant Coordinator

Karen has lived in Rockport, Washington for the past 10 years and has a deep appreciation for the natural world. She has worked as an educator with children and seniors. She enjoys personal study of wildlife, the Cascade Mountains, and Skagit River. She is a mother of two teenage boys who have hiked and camped with her in the Rockport area. Karen is also a musician and artist.

The SRBEAT Board Members welcome Andrea & Karen to the Interpretive Center & wish them a long partnership with SRBEAT
